The importance of vehicle servicing
Regular servicing of your vehicle makes all the difference with it running smoothly and efficiently. Servicing helps to identify potential problems before they become major repairs, which can be expensive.
All of our servicing at Bennetts includes all the essential safety checks on the critical components of your vehicle. If nothing, it will provide peace of mind that the vehicle is safe and road-worthy.
To put it simply, servicing at regular intervals will improve the life span of your vehicle. This goes a long way to maintaining vehicle safety and vehicle value. At Bennetts, our main focus is keeping you safe on the road whilst offering great value.
Safety
Deterioration of vehicle components happens gradually and can sometimes not be obvious in the drive of the vehicle. Wear and tear items can degrade slowly as the miles clock up on the vehicle. As a result, it can sometimes lull you into a false sense of security.
If there have been no warning signs or dramatic changes in the vehicle and that’s great news! This does not always mean that the vehicle does not need attention.
You may not feel or see a change in how a vehicle drives. However, this is sometimes unavoidable. Firstly, you may not notice the change if it is gradual and not giving any obvious indication that something is wrong. Secondly, if you are driving the vehicle most days then you may become accustomed to noises or gradual signs of wear.
However, vehicle safety checks we carry out at Bennetts alongside our servicing, allowing us to provide you with a full report on the condition of the different components on your vehicle.
Money-saving
Saving money by not servicing your vehicle is a false economy. Servicing to the correct schedule allows us to identify issues that could escalate and could later become costly to rectify. This does not only save you money with repairs but can also make your vehicle more fuel-efficient.
In other words, new oil, filters, and regular checks on the vehicle make for a smoother running engine. This in turn saves you time and money at the fuel pump.
How often should you service your vehicle?
As a general rule, it is recommended that you service your vehicle every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. This is normally indicated on the dash in modern vehicles. These indicate that your service and the relevant safety checks are due on the vehicle.
If your dash does not give you this reminder then you can also go by your vehicle service book to check when it was last serviced. As a German car specialist in Littlehampton, we provide manufacturer-specific servicing for Volkswagen (VW), Audi, Skoda, Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover, and Jaguar.
